The Contemporary Service is held in the Light House Auditorium (building behind the main building) beginning at 10:45am. This AWE (Alternative Worship Experience) Service is just that — “current and non-traditional.” While our ministers preach on the same scripture at all three services each Sunday, the contemporary service has a more informal Order of Worship and the congregation often dresses casually.
While the AWE Service is more modern, services still include a Sermon based on a Scripture reading and liturgical elements like the Prayer of Confession, the Apostles' Creed, offertory and the Lord's Prayer. Unlike the Traditional Services, there are no acolytes for this service. This worship service is led by the AWE Worship Team and incorporates many styles of worship from traditional hymns and anthems to Psalms and spiritual songs. Two of the sacraments, baptism and communion, are also celebrated during our services. Communion is generally served on the first Sunday of each month.
For our AWE Contemporary Service, it’s best to park in the spaces closer to the back of our church campus, as this service is located in our Light House building.
