The 2019 Operation Christmas Child Packing Party will be held on Wednesday, November 13. Dinner from 5:00-5:45pm and packing boxes from 6:00-7:30 pm.
Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritan's Purse, has become an exciting tradition here at SGPC. You simply take a shoe box and fill it with suggested items to make someone's Christmas brighter from across the world.
Volunteers are needed for all aspects - collecting items and packing shoe boxes. Our church also has an annual shoe box packing party each year that involves members and friends of all ages in mid-November each year. This is a great ministry for individuals and families to serve together!
For more information about this national endeavor, please visit the Operation Christmas Child website.
You can prepare and pack shoeboxes for children on your own and bring them to the church once complete! Learn how to pack an OCC shoebox by reading these directions from the OCC website. It's important to know what is and is not accepted, so that the OCC center doesn't have to repack your shoebox once it's received. Be sure to include the OCC label and a check paying $7 for the shipping costs of each shoebox.
HELP with our PACKING PARTY!
Plan to join us for our annual OCC Packing Party in Mid- November each year! At 6:00pm we will hear how this Samaritan's Purse ministry positively lives. Our packing party will then begin and all should end around 7:30pm. (We'll also have pizza in the gym at 5:00pm for individuals and families that are packing boxes!)
Help us prepare for the SGPC OCC Packing Party by bringing in some of the items on the list below. Check our church newsletter, This Week at Saxe Gotha, for specific counts of items needed, as we publish weekly updates. Please drop of OCC donations and place items in the blue SGPC mission bins that are located throughout our campus. Thanks in advance for your help in this regard!
Thank you for your prayers for this ministry! Pray for the children and families touched by each OCC shoebox! We appreciate you helping to spread God's love through Operation Christmas Child!
