Overview

During the summer months we have the privilege of sharing the love of Christ each Tuesday evening with migrant workers from the farms in the Batesburg-Leesville area.

The ministry typically runs from the first Tuesday in June until the first Tuesday in August. Volunteers meet at SGPC staff offices at 6:15pm, drive their own cars or ride the SGPC bus to Batesburg-Leesville Presbyterian Church (103 Mitchell St., Leesville, SC), and then serve others during the program. All usually return to the church by 9:00pm.

While there individuals share a meal together, listen to a sermon (in Spanish) given by Pastor Henry Alfaro and then group activities begin. Group activities include playing sports like volleyball, doing crafts and playing games with the children.

Each year this ministry has needs for volunteers to help set up and assist with recreational activities, serve food, provide fellowship and clean up afterwards. It's a terrific summer ministry opportunity for individuals and families alike!
