SC Christian Dance Theatre

Joining us for Worship

On Sunday, October 2, the SC Christian Dance Theater will be joining us in Worship at Saxe Gotha.

Founded in 2006, SCCDT began with 30 young students, and a dream to provide quality dance training with in a Christian setting and focus.  We have grown in classroom studio space, students and knowledge of how to dance for a purpose other than ourselves.  We are blessed to have wonderful families to dance in our great facility in Columbia SC.

Why start another dance studio in Columbia, SC?  The SCCDT difference is our outright declaration of our Christian beliefs, that dance can be a useful tool in ministry and worship. Hopefully we are considered one of the studios in the Columbia area where great dance is taught and performed, continuing the training of classical ballet and excellence in all forms of dance training.

SCCDT has grown quickly to be a place where over 200 families come to dance each week.   We have a performing company "Dance Radiance" who dance regionally in churches and community events.  Our summer camps, workshops and now Summer Dance Intensive, draw dancers from the region to dance with us in the summer months as visiting students.

Join us to celebrate the 34th anniversary of Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church in traditional, Scottish style on Sunday, October 9th.  We will have one service at 11:00 am in the sanctuary with The Palmetto Pipes & Drums all arrayed in their tartans! Children will worship with their families that day for this special service.  We will have a Potluck Picnic after the service in the Gym.  The church will provide chicken, drinks, and paper products. Please bring a dish to feed your family plus five (5) others.  Please bring the following food according to your last name: A-O: Sides (Casseroles, Vegetables, Starches, Salads) or P-Z:  Desserts. Please bring enough food in a container to keep food hot or cold until picnic begins. RSVP by contacting SGPC church office 359-7770. If you’d like to volunteer to help set up and/or clean up, please contact Jennifer Gibbons at 447-0097.    Please join us for this wonderful church-wide worship and celebration!
